The on going campaign continues with this ad for Coco Mademoiselle. It has been said the campaign reflects Keira Knightley's evolution into a Hollywood icon, but many have disagreed saying she is simply to thin and too flawed to be the sexy face of the prestigious french fashion house? However, Jacques Helleu art director for the company said it is this flawed natural beauty that made her ideal for the job!
I personally feel she pulls it off, the quintessentially English colouring of the actress does compliment the elegance and grace Chanel promotes. If celebrity endorsement works, why not? Although I'm not a fan of the Joss stone version of the classic song accompanying the film...to me it goes against the concept completely! Classy? the best? not very Joss Stone! Why not just stick to the original!

I agree, that version of the song ruins it! Definately not in keeping with the sophistication of Chanel.
so true! anyone disagree?
don't hate me, but I don't mind the song! I also think Kiera is a fantastic choice for Chanel, as for me she totally represents them as a brand...and to be honest I wasn't really a fan of Nicole Kidman being last year's choice. I don't think Kiera deserves the stick she gets from the press about her looks as I think she is a true English beauty and its great to see someone from the UK being so successful! All in all I think it works as a really effective ad.
I agree its an effective ad, Kiera Knightly is perfect casting. I quite like the version of the song, but I hate Joss Stone with a passion so I hate to admit it. I think you're right they should have stuck to the original. Suppose it gives it a more modern feel?!
yeah maybe, i guess they are maybe appealing to a younger audience with the choice of song!
